The DVD recorder has an HDMI outlet as does the DVR, but if I hook them up to each other how do I view the material on the TV? Also if I spend the money to buy blank Blu-Ray DVD’s will the DVD recorder burn in HD?

The Blue Ray player I want is $300,but I can get PS3 for $100 more.
I know the PS3 has more options….but is the actual Blue Ray player mechanism just as good as this Samsung BDP 1600?
